Critical Reflection:
These are the five posters I created for my project, as my project is a Netflix docu-series consisting of five episodes, each episode discussing a different form of sexual abuse, I wanted to create a poster for each episode. I got my inspiration for this from the 'Our Planet' Netflix docu-series which also has a range of repetitive posters, with continues styles, layouts and images.

I wanted the images in my project to all be my own, which was made hard due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, I do think that this gives my project a more personal and original feel, also due to the lack of numbers in participants and the repetition in models, the project allows the audience to relate to the characters more as they are re-used, which thus means they are seen more often.
You can see from the posters, the text in each poster discusses which episode that relates to such as 'My name is Sophie and I suffered from child genital mutilation'. This tells the audience the darkness of the docu-series, to go along with this and to give extra detail, the image of the girl with her mouth edited off further shows the seriousness and genre of the subjects discussed. The use of text and image, help to give the audience a better understanding of what the docu-series is about.
The posters are quite minimalist and simplistic, similar to the 'Our Planet' posters, this is to ensure that the most important features stand out more and catch the audiences eye. When there is a lot going on in a poster, it is easy to not read the text and be put off by its busyness, however due to the simplicity of the posters I created, they are easy to read quickly and also appealing due to the large images. You could catch a glimpse of them on a train, bus, billboard or whilst scrolling on social media, and even if you only look at it for 5 seconds you get an understanding of the text.
